Background

I am a stay at home mom and decided to start this blog just as a place to talk. It seems that reality TV is not real to me. Reality for many is struggling to make ends meet at times, your only car breaking down at the worst time or some other 'real' scenario that you don't see on TV but that many of us deal with or have been there, done that & amazingly come out in the end.

I feel I have lived through my share of hard times, or reality. Hard times are different for every person because no two people will walk the same path through life. Here is a little bit of me. I was born with a significant pigmented birthmark on the entire left side of my face. I think in medical terms it was called a 'hairy nevus' or a pigmented birthmark. It was determined by my doctors that it needed to be removed to prevent me from getting skin cancer. The first surgery was when I was about 4 with the last one, surgery #14 or 15, just before I turned 17. There have been so many surgeries I have lost count over the years.

As most people know, school can be hard if your 'different' from the 'normal' or popular. I was teased & made fun of at school by kids every year of my school life. Between school sports, activities, & a hobby I got through school & graduated with a high school degree & a college degree the same weekend at the age of 17. I really feel that focus was the main thing that helped. No magic tricks & I don't feel that I am incredibly smart, I was just focused & determined to not let anything derail me.

I met my husband at my first job, McDonalds, when I was still a senior in high school. We both worked there & because I was going to college classes I was able to work an earlier shift than a normal high school student would have been able to.  Six months later we got an apartment together after I graduated & finally turned 18 so I could sign the lease agreement. My parents weren't exactly happy. I moved out 8 days after turning 18 & thankfully never had to go back.

7 years later we got married & now almost 13 years after starting to date we finally had our daughter.

After getting married in 2008, life started to take a drastic turn.
